The candy cane: a special peppermint treat that only comes out to play once a year. And unlike the candy corn, this is just So. Freakin’. Delicious. (Sorry to all of you candy corn lovers out there!) You simply can’t celebrate Christmas without having these little sticks of joy around! I’ve found some DIY candy cane crafts & treats that will help you spread some holiday cheer, brighten the home, and wake up those taste buds.
DIY Candy Cane Crafts & Treats
Candy Can North Pole Treats – These are super easy and your kids can help make them. And they only require 3 ingredients, so they are affordable, as well!
Peppermint Crusted Brownies – Yes, I consider baking a form of crafting. There is so much room for creativity and, let’s be honest, it’s always fun to taste test along the way 😉
2 Minute Peppermint Fluff Dip – This is looks SO yummy and I’m pretty sure my niece would eat the entire batch simply because it’s pink.
Peppermint Themed Hot Cocoa Bar – You can’t go wrong putting a little peppermint in your hot cocoa (especially if you have the marshmallows in there, as well.) Create a cute and fun set up for a holiday party, movie night, or after Christmas Eve dinner.
Elf on the Shelf Food – This is a clever way to keep your naughty little elf coming back for more each night. The kids can help make it and will love to eat it. I’ll eat Chex Mix in any form, so this is like heaven for me 🙂
Christmas Dessert Table – If you find yourself with the time, create an entire spread of Christmas treats made with candy canes. I am always finishing up my shopping, cleaning, cooking, wrapping at the very last minute, so I like to limit myself to only 1 or 2 fun desserts. This spread has so many options – and it’s making me hungry just looking at it…
Candy Cane Playdough – OK, so this may not be made with actual candy canes, but it is made with peppermint oil that makes it smell like the real deal. And it’s just so cute I couldn’t resist.
Homemade cookies – Use this candy cane cookie cutter to make your favorite cookies. I love giving baked goods to neighbors, coworkers, and people you truly appreciate (the mailman always gets a goody bag)
These wooden spoons are my favorite – they’re biodegradable!
