My mom recently retired and she has resumed her knitting adventures! Last year, she made each of us a scarf and I was surprised at how much I loved it. Plus, how cool is it that my mom made me a gift that I can actually use (albeit only a few weeks out of the year…gotta love that San Diego weather!)?? I got to thinking about all the other fun stuff she could make, and I rounded up some cute DIY Knitted Stocking Stuffers that anyone would be happy to get 🙂 Ho Ho Ho
Chunky Coasters – Ohmigosh! Who doesn’t love seasonal coasters? Um, I want these in my stocking.. “Moooommmmmm…” 😉
Infinity Scarf -Every girl loves herself a great scarf, am I right? Okay, well at least I do!
Arm Knitting Infinity Scarf – This bulky scarf is *perfect* for cold weather! It’s easy and great for beginning knitters.
Mason Jar Cozy – I love having different colors in my house for each season. My dish towels, my candles, my Kleenex boxes…they all need to fit the spirit of the season. These cozies are a great way to make the home more festive, and fit perfectly in any sized stocking.
Upcycled Market Bag – It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of the local farmer’s market. This is a dream stocking stuffer for someone like myself – it’s creative, it upcycles old clothing, and I can use while I SHOP. No yarn needed- so this can also be a free stocking stuffer!
For beginners, here are some great kits and patterns to help you along your stocking stuffing way:
Rag Hiking Socks – These socks are great for lounging around the house or to use while camping this winter. Oh, and they’re super cute.
Brooklyn Boot Liners – Every winter, I spend too much money on tall socks and boot liners (mostly because I buy new boots every year…). These are fashionable and perfect for boots of all different styles and heights.
Toys from the Toybox – A cute mix of knitted animals that are perfect a little one.
Girls Mermaid Tail – Almost every little girl I know either has or wants one! They are perfect little blankets for winter, and who doesn’t want to feel like Ariel while cozied up on the couch?!
OK, not all of us are knitters, but we still want to give the feeling of a nice, thoughtful homemade gift to our loved ones. Here are some fun ideas:
Fingerless Gloves – Customize with different colors!
Boot Cuffs – Yes, you can buy definitely buy boot cuffs if you’re getting short on time or have, ummm, procrastinated just a little too long… #foreverguilty
Natural Mini Animals – This page has so many different cute animals that will help stuff that stocking! This beats the orange that we always had in the toe of our stocking as kid 😉
Golf Club Covers – Did you say “golf”?? Yup, my husband MUST. HAVE.
