The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. We always gather with our friends at a local park (we get there early so we get the best spot!), where we picnic and enjoy the festivities while we wait for fireworks. I don’t know what the 4th will look like this year, but I know that we’ll still be celebrating it, however that might look. This free printable 4th of July coloring page is one way we can all celebrate!
Printable 4th of July Coloring Page
You can probably tell that a grown-up colored this apge (and that grown-up would be yours truly!). However, this American flag coloring page was really designed more for kids. If you’re looking for a fun way to teach toddlers and little kids about Independence Day, this coloring page will be perfect.
The American flag on this coloring page has 50 stars and 13 stripes, so you can use it as a teaching tool, too.

What paper works best for printable coloring pages?
I printed this on cardstock so I could use Sharpies. I love Sharpies for coloring. Obviously, I am not recommending Sharpies for toddlers! I would just print this on normal computer paper and let my littles color with crayons, colored pencils, or even washable markers. If you want to hang this up or incorporate into your 4th of July decorating, you might want to print on cardstock, too. Here’s a good one you can buy on Amazon. You can also find cardstock inexpensively at Walmart, Target, or your favorite craft store.
