I’m a sucker for a good margarita. 100%. It’s almost Cinco de Mayo and I’ve been trying to use it as an excuse to really up my tequila game 😉 This matcha and jalapeno margarita is next level, and I am so excited to share it with you! Make it by the glass, by the pitcher, by the gallon – who cares?! It’s fiesta time! Matcha and Jalapeno Margarita
Makes 8 Servings in a pitcher
Ingredient list:
-24 ounces unsweeted green tea
-16 ounces anejeo tequila
-6-10 limes to make ½ – ¾ cup of freshly squeezed lime juice (cut some wedges for garnish)
-½ cup of honey/agave melted with ½ cup of water
-2 teaspoons matcha powder- by Jade Leaf Matcha tea powder from Amazon
-16 slices of jalapeno (save ½ for garnish)
-Optional garnish: 8 tequila gummy worms (See recipe here)
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, so get in where you can – including margaritas!
Boil enough water to make 24 ounces of green tea (roughly 3-3 ¼ cups of water).
Soak tea bags for 4-6 minutes. Add matcha powder to the tea and stir until dissolved. Let cool.
In a shaker or pitcher, muddle 8 jalapeno’s with lime juice. Add remaining ingredients.
If using a shaker, shake vigorously or if using a pitcher, use the wooden spoon to stir and mix well. Pour over ice.
Garnish with jalapeno slice, lemon wedge & tequila gummy worm*
